I returned to the hospital for a Stem Cell Transplant, which I received on January 4, 2018. It was a frightening experience, but my faith pulled me through and I am now in remission.

Education/Military Service: RHS, US Navy
Where you have lived: Detroit, Chicago, Washington D.C. San Francisco, San Diego (30 years), Dripping Springs, TX (just south of Austin), and finally Willow Street, PA
Where you live now: Willow street, PA
Married 47 years, 3 kids (1boy, 2 girls)
Grand Kids: 4 - 2 boys (17 & 18) and 2 girls (4 & 8)
Travel: I've seen a lot of the world; The US Navy took me to Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Guam, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, After, I've traveled to France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, England, Canada (obviously) & Mexico
Hobbies: I enjoy reading and working in my yard.
Accomplishments/Awards:
When I owned my own business as a manufacturers Representative, I invested 3 years into a program at the University of Arizona to become certified as a Certified professional Manufacturers Representative. As a CPMR, I served the association I belong to (The ERA) as local Chapter President and later as National Delegate. Later I transitioned into the world of finance where I again invested in my education by becoming Certified Lease Professional. My best accomplished is now being retired (somewhat!)
Your Favorite Memories at RHS:
Most of my memories involve playing football (Cocaptain with Tom Edson my senior year) and being on the track team as a pole vaulter with Mike Cameron & Buz Migda! Most of my high school also involved a certain girl!friend. I remember being in several vocal groups. All good memories!.
Life Philosophy or Other:
If you asked my children, they'd tell you how I'm always telling that if they're going to take the time to do something, take the time to do it right. I've also always tried to teach them to respect other people's time by being early to appts. If you're at an appointment on time, you're late. I've also been involved with Kiwanis, a volunteer group focus on the needs of children (which by the way, was founded in Detroit!) My RHS profile says I was a member of Key Club which is a part of Kiwanis. But after 50 years or so, those memories have faded!

Single/Married/Kids: Married 3 Sons

Travel: I have had a opportunity to travel through my business and seen a lot of the US.
Hobbies: I love to fish play golf and read.
Accomplishments/Awards: I have lived the American Dream. Having come from the Projects of Detroit to owning my own business in California, now for over 25 years.
Your Favorite Memories at RHS:
High School had lots of great memories. From Sports where I excelled at both High Jump and Basketball to drafting that taught me a trade of a lifetime. To the girls that were forever young. the teachers of Redford were all very good to me. Amazing how the little skill sets all became so important over time. My fellow classmates need to be written about as there are so many stories and so many friendships that will ever be etched in the memories.
Life Philosophy or Other:
I'm a believer in leadership. We tend to either follow or lead in our lives. I picked leading. Leading requires that you are always thinking outside the box, what is next in all you do, while making sure everyone around you has those things needed to get where you are. Opportunities in life don't come that often be prepared and grab hold of those chances and do something with them.

RHS was THE BEST 3 YEARS of my early life! It was all good! I especially enjoyed meeting new friends whom I've kept in touch over the years. We can't overlook that our varsity sports teams were very competitive, particularly our football teams, who won the PSL West Side Championship in 1965 & 1967.

Wayne State College of Medicine: MS Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology
Central Michigan: MA: Business, Personnel Management
Wayne State: MS: Hazardous Waste Management
Macomb County Community College: AA: Culinary Arts
University of Hawaii-Manoa: Hawaiian Studies
My favorite classes were Modern Polish Literature at UM and Crystallography at Wayne State.
I currently live: in Palmer Woods in Detroit.
I split my time between Detroit and the North Shore of Hawaii (Haleiwa)
Sometimes a snowbird and sometimes a sun bird depending on the circumstances.
Where Have you lived:
Detroit, Honolulu, Sacramento California, Haleiwa O'ahu
I married Garry Williams and had two great sons, Brian and Michael.
Michael has an adorable little guy named Jackson.
I am current married to Richard Huddleston. He is in Finance.
Hobbies/Travel:
I studied Polynesian dance/culture for over twenty-five years. There is a picture of my dance troupe in the book called, "Spirit of Hawaii". I've been fortunate to travel to many places but still want to go to Iceland and Cuba. I've rescued several dogs and trained them: My current dog is Little Miss Muffet. She is a canine Good Citizen and trained in agility, rally and barn-hunt. She is a Catahoula Cur Louisiana Leopard dog.
Accomplishments
I received the (F-1 and A) highest level of certification in Water and Wastewater Operations and also certifications in Industrial Waste Treatment. I have a few professional articles written about the presence of geosmin in water. My girlfriend and I co-authored a romance novel and submitted it to Harlequin. They said it was "too stereotyped" and rejected it. Too bad because we had worked on it for several years because of our childrens' demands. And finally, I successfully sued my employer for sexual harassment, "before it was politically correct."
Memories: I remember Betty Soos in swimming class yelling, "Swimmers Up, Take your Mark, Go" as I was drowning.
I also remember Sherry Sherman, a teacher that confiscated your pens and pencils if you tapped them on the desk. At the end of the semester she would auction them back to the students. I can remember walking to Redford in the winter and freezing cold. I went to summer school one year, took English and History, and graduated in June, 1968 instead of January 1969. When I wasn't at school I worked at my father's marina counting minnow and worms, gassing up boats and constantly sweeping out the dust. My senior year was very brief, going to school from 8-11 am, and then waitressing at restaurants.

What a long, strange trip it's been. Couldn't figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up. Bounced from one career to another, including human services, warehousing & distribution, international logistics, manufacturing, application development and software engineering. Owner (with two partners) of a software firm from 2000-2004. Spent the last 10 years of my working life first as a data analyst, and then as a business analyst for a ginormous advertising agency, working on the Ford Motor account. Managed to avoid jail. Currently retired with Marcy, my wife of 37 years and living in Livonia, playing music, riding my bike and working in my shop. Life is good...

Comments:
** I graduated in 1968 & 1969. I thought I was going to fail right before graduation, so I quit. I went back the following January. They called me into the office in May, asking why was I still there as I graduated in 1968. I had no idea they had passed me. Administrators were gracious and allowed me to graduate formally, with the class of 69'.

Life and Comments:
Skipped a grade while at Emerson and was put in choir at Redford in my sophomore year. Therefore, most of my friends graduated in ‘67/8. Needless to say, was less mature and didn’t fit in well. Was in band, orchestra, male chorus, choir, male ensemble, mixed ensemble, and made quartet before I left. Graduated from Ford in ‘69. Married Christine "Kit" Anderson (Ford HS '69) a year after graduation. She unfortunately passed away last year from cancer ?. Have 4 great kids (all grown and college grads), a beautiful, precocious granddaughter Ashley who was 23 in Aug, a 13 yr. old grandson Patrick and 12 yr. old granddaughter Alison. Divorced amicably 26 yrs ago. Have lived in Michigan, Illinois, Hawaii, Virginia, Belgium, England, Italy, Tennessee, Nevada, Delaware, North Carolina and Florida. Retired from the USAF in 1993 and worked in IT until retirement. Was living the good life jammin'/singin' in Las Vegas, but moved to S. DE to assist ailing sister.

Where you live now? Punta Gorda, FL
Single/Married/Kids/Grand-kids?
In 1970 I married an RHS 1967 graduate, Tom Kildal. We had 2 children: Kevin is 45 and Randy is 41. We were married until 1985. We have 3 grandchildren: 2 granddaughters Kira is 16, Kaliana is 12, and the grandson,Arik (Kira spelled backward) is 9. They all live in MI. I married Ray Thompson, Cody HS, in 2004. We live in Punta Gorda, FL.
Hobbies / Travels:
We don't do much traveling other than back and forth to MI to see family. We went to Las Vegas this past spring. That was great fun. Out-of-town guests keep is busy in the winter. Living in FL where the plant life grows prolifically, I do a lot of gardening. My hobby is my genealogy research. I have been working on it since about 2007. The furthest back I can get is 1580 in Derbyshire, England. That line came to America in 1650. My German people came in 1748. My Irish people went to Canada in 1851, then the US in 1919. I have sooooo many stories! I use Ancestry and Family Tree Maker, and I also had my DNA tested. The results came out as expected except for a lot of Scandinavian, too. Hmmm. My down-time "activity" is reading...a lot. I'm considering switching to puzzles.
Accomplishments/Awards:
I was doing bookkeeping and payroll most of my life, but I turned my interest in numbers to income tax preparation. After 18 years of tax preparing, I retired 2 years ago as Office Manager and Senior Registered Tax Return Preparer with Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.

Where you live now: Napoleon Township, Michigan
Married/Kids: Married, 3 boys
Grand Kids: Five - 3 boys and 2 girls.
Travel: Mostly in the USA, but also Hawaii, Tahiti, Caribbean.
Hobbies: Grandkids & Family, Skiing out West, Cycling, Vintage Cars
Accomplishments/Awards: Married to the same wonderful lady for 44 years. Together, we raised 3 amazing and successful boys. I coached youth hockey and baseball for several years. After graduating from U of M, I completed a 25 year career with the Michigan State Police. After that I spent 12 years with the State Fire Marshal’s Office as a Life Safety Code Specialist. During my first career, I was the recipient of several awards, including a Life Saving Award. I have been a multiyear participant in Ride the Rockies, The Bicycle Tour of Colorado, and the DALMAC
Your Favorite Memories at RHS: Playing on the baseball team was fun and helped keep me focused on school. I also enjoyed hanging out with a small, but close group of friends. For a couple years, I worked after school which curtailed involvement with other school activities. Sometimes I enjoyed riding that fine line between getting into mischief and staying on track.
Life Philosophy or Other: Take care of your body like you want to live forever, and take care of your soul like you might die tomorrow. And of course… The Golden Rule.
